The Bridal Hair Up category at the Hair Championships will take place on the show floor of Professional Beauty Dubai at the Festival Arena on 18 February.

It's a 60 minute live hairstyling competition and the entrants will be judged live by some of the best industry professionals.

ENTER THE HAIR CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Rules

  1. 60 minutes is given for entire look from start to finish.
  2. The theme is bridal look. Theme is free styled reflecting modern wedding bride style.
  3. Models hair can be any length or volume.
  4. Models hair must be free of permanent hair extensions of any kind prior to championship start.
  5. Hair extensions clips with straight non styled hair strands, hair weft with straight non styled  hair strands, buns in a shape of donut or cushion/pudding are allowed to be used or applied during championship.
  6. Hair extensions clips with straight non styled hair strands, hair weft with straight non styled  hair strands, buns in a shape of donut or cushion/pudding are NOT allowed to be applied before competition.
  7. Hair extensions applications must not exceed 20% of coverage of the hair style overall.
  8. Curled or pre-styled before the championship extra hair extensions applications are not allowed to be used.
  9. Hair accessories such as pins, clips, bobby pins, hair nets are allowed to be used, as long as it is not visible.
  10. Decorating accessories are allowed to be used and must not be made of hair. 
  11. Decorating accessories, color/shimmer/glitter sprays, beads and pearls must not exceed 20% of coverage of the hair style overall.
  12. Veils, tiaras, crowns, flowers, Alice bands, Swarovski decorated accessories, sewing threads and tools are allowed. Judges must be able to move the veils fabric to be able to see, touch and judge the hairstyle.
  13. Hair color must be done prior to the championship outside the competition arena. Color should be made not more than 1 week prior to competition.
  14. Open hair can be 20% of the overall look. 80% of hair must be up in style.
  15. All hair can be fixed up in style and might have no open hair.
  16. Products: mouse, hair spray, fixing gels, molding pomades, styling powders, web fixing wax are allowed to be used.
  17. Styling products should be used in controlled, clean manner. Hair sprays, wax, mouse and other permitted styling products residue, excessive drops should not be visible to the judge.
  18. Tools: curlers, irons, blowdryers are allowed to be used.
  19. Water sprays are allowed to be used.
  20. Styling accessory tools- brushes, combs, rollers, velcro rollers, heated rollers, clips, section clips are allowed.
  21. Hair cutting or scissor/sheer finishing works are NOT allowed
  22. Permanent hair coloring, toning during the competition is NOT allowed.  
  23. Models should wear wedding dress or wedding gown.
  24. Make up should be pre-made prior to the start of competition matching the theme of wedding.
  25. Make up artists are not allowed to be present during championship on the competition arena. Models are allowed to correct their make up during championship themselves or with help of contestant hairstylist.
  26. Theme of hairstyle should compliment overall look of the model’s appearance.
  27. Hair texture and surface of a hairstyle, curls, waves and shapes should be done with perfect smooth finish. Hair edges, unruly hair, messy fine hair must not be visible.
  28. Pins clips, bobby pins must Not be visible.
