Who can enter?

All qualified hairdressers who work in the GCC in a commercial environment and have done so for a minimum of two years excluding training may enter this category.

Entry deadline

The deadline for all Awards entries is 23:00HRS (DUBAI TIME) On 14th October 2024.

Overview
RULES


The use of wigs, hairpieces, extensions or strands is strictly forbidden.


ENTRANTS MUST SUPPLY BEFORE SHOTS OF ALL MODELS.


Entrants need to supply a collection of four images - each depicting current, commercial colour trends.


• Four full colour, high resolution photographs, of the hair before colouring.


• Four full colour, high resolution photographs, of the same model's hair after colouring.


• All photographs must be created by you during the past 12 months


• For each look, a technical analysis of the model's hair prior to colouring must be submitted outlining -  texture, porosity, previous colour applications and other relevant information which should include:


1. A breakdown of the colour products used and the reasons why they were chosen to create the end result.


2. An insight into shade selection and the reasons for their usage, e.g.: eye colour, skin tone, texture enhancement. A comprehensive outline of the techniques used including terms such as foils, mesh, slicing, colour merging, colour panels, pre-lightening, pastel shading and tonal variation.


3. A storyline of the concept behind the finished result and how the colouring technique complements the finished look.

Images of each look (4 looks in total) should focus on the hair. Both the before and after pictures should be taken in the same light with the same back drop taken at the same angle and should be mainly of the back of the head. The images should be portrait.


The competition is judged on hair work only, not total look
