Foreo reveals 'tremendous' growth in travel retail

Foreo, the Swedish beauty devices company, is proving a hit with consumers in airports and duty free locations around the world, and is experiencing "tremendous growth".

Its travel retail business boasts sales of around 4 million units yearly, with a sales value forecast of US$125bn by 2023.

Foreo has entered 30 new travel retailers since January and is present in nearly 200 locations worldwide.

Paul Peros, the CEO of Foreo, said: "Travel retail in many ways differs from traditional retail spaces and we are utilising these, capturing travellers' me-moments.

"As moving through terminals is usually the most tedious part of travel, we are brightening these spaces with our eye-catching products and displays.

"We are enhancing the passenger experience and serving a much-needed pick-me-up during those long layovers."

Asian travel retail dominates

The top five travel retail locations for the brand in terms of store numbers are Japan, Hong Kong, China, Korea and Macau.

The Foreo Luna Mini 2 is the second best seller on China's Tmall e-commerce wishlist, with the Apple iPhone 8 in top position.

Foreo said this comes "as no surprise" considering the lucrative nature of the Asia Pacific beauty market.

Peros added: “Asia is changing the entire face of travel.

"The rising tide of travellers from the region is spreading across the world, overwhelming airports and outspending every other nation.

"It is exciting to know that shopping is among their top travel motivators and their receptivity of international brands is as high as it ever was."

Among Foreo's best selling items is its hero Luna facial cleansing device.
