As one of the most respected and decorated hairdressers in history, and with over 50 years’ experience under his belt, Trevor has been responsible for some of the most iconic hair styles over the years including the ‘Wedge’, ‘Scrunch’ and ‘Chop’. A perfectionist, his team are put through rigorous training before they hit the salon floor and the Dubai team will be no exception; with some of Trevor’s most accomplished hair artists hand-picked to relocate from the UK. About Trevor Sorbie

Trevor’s incredible hairdressing journey began over 50 years ago in Paisley, Scotland. He left school at the age of 15 with no qualifications, so was recruited into the family business – a two-seat barber shop in Ilford, Essex, run by his father. Within three months Trevor was cutting hair and a few years later he joined a local hairdressing school, which is where he was introduced to hairdressing legend Vidal Sassoon for the first time – the catalyst that would change his life forever.
By 1972, Trevor was a stylist for Vidal Sassoon, and a household name thanks to his iconic looks (such as the Wedge, Scrunch and Chop), mesmerising hair shows, and hair styling for major celebrities. The end of the decade would herald another huge achievement for Trevor – opening his own salon in London’s Covent Garden. This was swiftly followed by the launch of his own product range, one of the first ‘celebrity’ product ranges on the market, which is still sold worldwide today, and helped cement his place in the history books. A further four salons in the UK followed, as well as International sites in China.
Trevor has always been dedicated to education and training - and it’s this passion which still sets his salons apart. Every new team member undergoes an intensive training program called ‘Vardering’ which culminates in a test judged by Trevor himself. Only once this test has been past can the team member officially call themselves a ‘Trevor Sorbie’ hairdresser.
In 2017, Trevor sold the company to Dubai-based ‘The Grooming Company’, but remains with the brand as Creative Ambassador. With new sites already confirmed in Dubai and the UK (and future expansion planned for Asia and the US), the brand is ready to take on its next adventure.
