Opté Beauty launches a inkjet for your face

Opté beauty launches a a handheld inkjet printer under P&G, which promises to give you the look of flawless skin without foundation. While inkjet printers aren’t normally associated with beauty, this innovative technology looks to change the way we think about makeup and skincare today. After 10 years of R&D and a partnership with Japan’s Funai Electric Co Opté beauty was ready to unveil the first handheld makeup printer for your face. Tiny cameras in the high tech device take photos at 200 frames per second, the Opté device scans the skin for blemishes, age spots and hyperpigmentation, then covers them – by shooting out pigment instantly. The technology doesn’t just cover like normal makeup would, but also has an added benefit of skincare, mixed into the pigment is a serum that will also be deployed – the serum containing niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3 is designed to fade imperfections such as dark spots in approximately 8-12 weeks.
While these claims seem impressive, your probably thinking – at what cost? The device is set to go on sale in 2020 for roughly $599. The device also promises to cover almost 98% of skin tones, with Opté developing three formulas for light, medium and dark-toned coverage. Lauren Thaman P&G Ventures Spokeswoman says “It’s the most premium beauty product we’ve developed”. We look forward to seeing how this device changes the industry as we know it.
