Pro beauty brands make a splash at Rio Olympics

With the Rio Olympics in full swing, some the industry’s biggest professional brands have been helping Team GB get competition-ready.

Heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill, who won gold in the London Olympics four years ago, has packed a particular Elemis product to help reinvigorate her body after competing. “I plan to pack Elemis’s Aching Muscle Super Soak in my bag for Rio – hoping there is a bath in the Olympic village,” she said.

The formula, packed with extracts of birch, juniper, clove, alpine lavender, wild thyme and blue chamomile, works to soothe overworked and tired muscles.

Swimming sensation Jazz Carlin, who took home the silver medal in the women’s 400m freestyle final, sported a Union Jack-themed manicure when competing. Carlin has recently mentioned that she’s a big fan of pro nail brand Gelish. “It’s the first nail treatment I’ve found that stays on in the pool,” Carlin told Healthy magazine.
