Renowned international hair educator Ben Brown is teaming up with Tara Rose Salon to launch Professional training for Stylists across the GCC!

Ben Brown will return to Abu Dhabi in February next year to run a four-day training course sharing his Bbeducation | Fundamentals knowledge of hairdressing, precision and execution.
International hair educator Ben Brown is embarking on a new joint venture with Tara Rose Salon in Abu Dhabi to provide hair education and training for hairdressers across the GCC. Tara Rose Salon in Abu Dhabi will host the four-day course with Ben and will welcome stylists from salons based in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi.
Ben will carry out his Bbeducation training course, teaching haircutting with high attention and will focus on the fundamentals and foundations of hairdressing, precision and execution. The hair educator, who is also an Ambassador for both Akito scissors and Saco Haircare, says he aims to teach hairdressers how to cut hair, not do a haircut.
Ben, who recently travelled to Abu Dhabi to run an educational training session with the Tara Rose Salon team, explained how he enjoyed teaching the staff and is eager to launch his first educational course next year.
Ben said: “Teaching in the Middle East has been such an amazing experience for a few reasons. The culture seems to gravitate towards a thirst for learning and growing - about committing and working hard to achieve a goal. This culture and value makes teaching here not only an amazing experience, but a privilege.”
Bbeducation | Fundamentals is a new cutting program designed to immerse hairdressers in the fundamental side of technical haircutting. It focuses on helping stylists fully understand the why, where and how of haircutting - ultimately putting them in control. Over the four days, hairdressers will be taken through six haircut workshops, six demonstrations and three lectures.
The training course has a structured approach to help attendees understand the basics of classic cutting, techniques and how to approach both. Each day of the training will focus on one technique and two shapes. For example, on day two, each stylist will complete two line haircuts, round and square, which are designed to teach hairdressers how to create a perfect outline for their shape.
Day three will focus on layers and day four will be graduation day, where all elements will be broken down to build a solid understanding of each technique. Ben, who is an international hair educator, also states that his course focuses on salon precision, which combines the clear understanding of building and controlling shapes, with realistic salon shapes.
In addition, he aims to help hairdressers diversify their work, strengthen their control and have a true understanding of how to cut hair. Tara Rose Kidd, who owns and runs two Tara Rose Salons in Abu Dhabi, recently spent time with Ben in her Khalifa City A based salon, when he carried out an intense training session with her staff.
Tara described how she felt the education and opportunity Ben provided for her staff was second-to-none and why she is excited for this new venture with Ben to begin. “It was a pleasure to have Ben here in our salon recently to host an intense training session,” she said. “What he brought to the team was absolutely amazing. Launching this initial training course next year is a real opportunity for salons across the GCC to experience Ben’s invaluable training methods. It really opens up a new avenue for salons here in the UAE to be educated and for our salon to be a place where they can learn, and also for new stylists who may join their team to learn.
“Bringing experienced trainers over to Abu Dhabi on a regular basis and to provide a training facility for other salons has been something I’ve wanted to do for some time. So, to be working with Ben moving forward is a huge step in the right direction.Hosting this course next year is a new branch for the Tara Rose Salon brand and I couldn’t be happier that it’s finally happening.
“Moving forward on this joint venture with Ben is very exciting! He is a wonderful person to work with and his educational sessions and training techniques are exceptional.”
Tara, who has salons located in Khalifa City A and Al Marasy in Al Bateen, says she believes Ben’s training courses not only provide education for hairdressers, but also motivation and guidance. Tara said: “Ben is extremely talented and is exceptionally inspirational to be around. The energy he brings to a salon and how he motivates a team is incredible.
“Quite often salons here in the UAE struggle to maintain regular training opportunities for their staff due to a shortage of local training courses being available, or they face excessive expenditure to send their staff abroad to take part in a course.
“I believe launching this initial course next year, here in Abu Dhabi, will be highly beneficial and appealing for salons to book their staff on.”
She added: “I can’t wait for the first training course to launch in February. It’s going to be amazing! Dates for additional courses in 2020 will be announced later.” Theinitialfour-daytrainingcourseissettotakeplacefromFebruary12th-15th,atTaraRoseSalon, Khalifa City A, Street 26, Villa 198, Abu Dhabi.

British hair educator Ben was a salon owner for six years and a stylist for 21 years. He has experienced hiring hair educators to visit his salon to teach. He draws on his expectation of hiring a guest educator. He believes a training session should provide education that can be used to benefit the salon, the clients and the stylists themselves.
Ben states that we love to learn, so we teach. We are constantly learning and growing ourselves, we learn to share and we grow to make others grow. We work to help you perfect small, we help you to fully understand the WHY, WHERE and HOW of why we cut hair, putting you in control. We give a nerve free environment with no judgement, teaching pragmatically in a standardised way to ensure traction and to avoid the subjective side of haircutting.
