The second edition of the Professional Spa and Wellness Convention will run on 31 January – 1 Febraury 2016. With the programme already being expertly crafted by conference producer Jean-Guy de Gabriac, the second edition is set to one again blaze a trail. But don’t just take our word for it. We asked one of our 2015 delegates Darshana Mehra, business development manager of Poya organic skincare in the UAE, to explain why she attended the event, and why she would be returning: 1) Why did you choose to attend the Professional Spa and Wellness Convention 2015? Being new in the industry, it was a natural choice to go with the industry specialists. Plus it offered great value for money as well as the insight I needed to launch the Poya brand. 2) What was the highlight of the convention for you? Besides learning about the working of the industry, it helped me gain valuable contacts and was a great networking opportunity. I was glad to be amidst all the spa experts! 3) Who were your favourite speakers/what were your favourite topics? As a supplier, I am not directly involved in the running of a spa, but indirectly, I took away a lot of information about the industry, so to name one topic wouldn’t be enough. I enjoyed how the talks were structured in different ways and they all kept my interest. 4) Was the convention a useful networking opportunity? Absolutely! It provided the opportunity to meet with the decision makers, get to know them formally and informally, and also get their direct feedback on the products. This has helped me market and improve my product and services effectively. 5) What was the main thing you took away from the convention? Industry knowledge, contacts, and information that were invaluable for a newbie! 6) Will you be attending the 2016 convention? Yes, of course. We are exhibiting at the 2016 Professional Beauty exhibition, which runs alongside the convention! I’m already confirmed.
