In a groundbreaking new partnership, Maybelline New York has named tennis star Naomi Osaka as the first global ambassador for its mental health initiative, Brave Together. Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion and mental health advocate, joins the brand to help expand access to one-on-one support for those facing anxiety and depression. This collaboration aims to make mental health resources more accessible worldwide, with Maybelline pledging to donate $20 million to local NGOs and support 10 million people by 2030.
Osaka will kick off her role with a creative campaign launching on World Mental Health Day, October 10, where she will speak to her personal journey and highlight the importance of seeking support. Her involvement reflects Maybelline's commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health by combining the power of visibility with real-world resources. Maybelline's Brave Together program, established in 2020, has already supported 1.65 million people across 34 countries through various mental health initiatives.
Trisha Ayyagari, Global Brand President of Maybelline, expressed pride in the partnership, stating that Osaka embodies the brand's spirit of resilience and empowerment, both on and off the court. This collaboration marks a new chapter for Maybelline's Brave Together program, combining Osaka’s voice with Maybelline’s global reach to help normalize mental health conversations and provide resources to those in need.
