Published 14th Jul 2023

Red Sea Global has chosen Rosewood to oversee the management of Rosewood Amaala, situated within the captivating Amaala destination. This integrated wellness haven, nestled along the West Coast of Saudi Arabia, boasts one of the world's most diverse and delicate natural environments.

With a strong focus on wellness and sustainability, Rosewood Amaala will harmoniously coexist with the surrounding fourth-largest reef and the scenic Hijazi mountains. Red Sea Global is committed to preserving and enhancing the natural ecosystems through active regeneration and destination development.

The well-being of guests, the community, and the native flora and fauna will be at the core of Rosewood Amaala's philosophy. The property will comprise 110 guest rooms and suites, as well as 25 residences. Designed by esteemed architecture firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the resort prioritizes longevity while fostering an environment of wellness and tranquility.

Sustainability will be ingrained in the entire design of Rosewood Amaala and the broader Amaala development, with ambitious goals of achieving zero impact. The destination will operate on 100% renewable energy and strive for a zero-carbon footprint, aiming to generate zero waste to landfill. Special consideration has been given to the nesting sites of the endangered Hawksbill and Green Turtles, ensuring their uninterrupted habitat during construction and design.

Rosewood Amaala will provide two rock pools to grant guests safe access to the water and sand, preserving the precious coral reefs encircling the resort. The centerpiece of the wellness experience at the resort is the Asaya Spa, discreetly nestled among the rolling landscape. This sanctuary will offer meditation, tranquility, and well-being, featuring private treatment pavilions set around a protected green oasis.

Phase One of Amaala is progressing well, with the first guests expected to be welcomed in 2024. This phase encompasses eight resorts offering over 1,200 hotel keys. Ultimately, Amaala will boast more than 3,000 hotel rooms across 25 hotels, along with approximately 900 luxury residential villas, apartments, and estate homes. These offerings will be complemented by high-end retail, fine dining, and world-class wellness and recreational facilities.
