Shura Island to welcome first Hotels and Saudi Arabia’s Inaugural Island Golf Course

The luxury destination of Shura Island in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea is preparing to open its first wave of resorts and attractions, including the Kingdom’s first island-based golf course, Red Sea Global (RSG) announced on Monday.

Within the coming weeks, three hotels, SLS, Edition, and InterContinental, along with the Shura Links golf course will begin welcoming guests.

“With the soft opening of Shura just around the corner, we are taking another step toward redefining regenerative tourism and advancing Vision 2030,” said RSG CEO John Pagano.

Shura Island will ultimately feature 11 resorts. In addition to the first three, the lineup includes Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles, and Rosewood.

Accessible by both sea and land, the island boasts its own marina and a 3.3-kilometer crossing that includes Saudi Arabia’s longest internal bridge. Visitors will also benefit from direct connections through Red Sea International Airport, now offering regular flights operated three times a week by Qatar Airways.

Designed as the centerpiece of RSG’s west coast tourism megaproject, Shura Island is powered entirely by renewable energy and supported by eco-friendly water management systems. Beyond its resorts, it will also feature residential communities, with the first homes scheduled for handover by the end of the year.
