THE LOWDOWN: 

We are amazed about how popular spray tans are in the UAE, considering we have sunshine here almost ten months of the year. But times are changing – more and more women are aware of the causes of skin damage, namely skin cancer, due to excessive sun exposure. Thanks to technology, nowadays, you can have an analysis of your skin conducted by a dermatologist which identifies the age and damage your skin may have (if any) Those that do enjoy time in the sun or are avid sunbed worshippers often find that their skin age is usually 10 to 15 years older than their actual age. As a result, consumers are now opting towards spray tans, with salons telling us that this treatment is becoming ever more popular within their properties.

With many amazing tanning brands to choose from, we were intrigued to explore the new Naked Tan range which is now available here in Dubai. Founded in Australia in 2007 by Lea Taylor, Naked Tan were the first pioneers to invent the world’s first 2-hour wash and wear tan for millennial women on the go.

Distributed by Manel and her team here in the UAE, it is clear to see that this is an exciting product. Not only because when Manel speaks about the brand there is passion in her eyes but also because of her celebrity clientele who love the brand as much as her. Naked Tan is loved by the likes of Caroline Stanbury, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton – so it’s no wonder this product is so sought after!

Naked Tan is made out of naked ingredients (hence the name) there’s no parabens, no nanoparticles, and no SLS in any of their products. The range is suitable for all skin types and comes in two shades. 

Before applying the tan, Manel did the usual drill of moisturising the dry areas on my body such as hands, feet, knees, ankles and elbows. The application itself, is as expected – quick and easy, I opted for the darker shade and with two coats done I was out within 10 minutes! The key factor in this spray tan application was how fast the tan dried – I could leave not having to worry about marks on my clothes or having to avoid others, because the tan soaked in perfectly.

The overall outcome was amazing – the tan was a fantastic shade and looked extremely natural. Over 10 days the tan naturally faded, but what I didn’t notice was any flaky or dryness post treatment.
