Business trends - Insider Spa
Insider, our exclusive round-up of spas in the GCC. It’s the easiest way to stay in the know
Selecting a skincare brand is always tricky with so many elements to consider. Elsewhere, in the UK and USA there is move towards creating products that are gender-neutral, focused more on skin type rather than the gender of the user. Even though salons and spas here are segregated by gender, it will be interesting to see how GCC businesses react to this new fad in the future. At present though, no salon questioned in the survey has adopted gender-neutral lines.
Interestingly, our survey revealed that the average gratuity per salon treatment is 14AED while the average tip per spa treatment is 28AED, perhaps reflective of the more time consuming natural of spa rituals and journeys.
Rebooking rates are robust at 72% while there is an air of optimism with 80% of you saying business is better than this time last year.
