Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Red Sea Global (RSG), the regenerative tourism developer, has announced the opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA, marking the global luxury fitness and wellness brand’s second hotel and its first destination outside the United States.
Located in Marina Village at Triple Bay, the resort introduces Equinox’s distinctive approach to performance, wellness and recovery to AMAALA, one of Saudi Arabia’s emerging luxury tourism destinations.
The resort features 128 rooms and suites across six accommodation categories, including two penthouse suites, as well as 21 branded residences. Designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group, the property takes inspiration from the natural character of the Red Sea, drawing on the coastline, marine environment and surrounding mountains.
“The opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA introduces a distinctive new dimension to the destination’s wellness offering. Equinox has built a global reputation around high-performance living, and bringing that expertise to AMAALA reinforces our ambition to create a destination where wellness, sport and luxury come together in a truly differentiated way,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.
At the heart of the resort is an integrated approach to movement, nutrition, regeneration and community, designed to support physical performance, recovery and overall wellbeing.
The property features 704 square metres of indoor and outdoor training space, making it the largest fitness facility in AMAALA. Guest rooms have also been designed with recovery in mind, incorporating elements from Equinox Hotels’ sleep science platform. These include circadian lighting designed to support the body’s internal clock, advanced acoustic insulation to minimize sleep disruption, and precision climate control intended to promote optimal rest.
The resort’s 1,602-square-metre spa is anchored by the proprietary Equinox X Circuit, a seven-circuit regeneration experience combining high-tech treatments with hands-on therapies. The offering includes cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast-temperature treatments, providing guests with a personalized approach to recovery and renewal.
Guests can also enjoy four outdoor swimming pools, including a dedicated lap pool, leisure pools and a rooftop magnesium salt pool overlooking Triple Bay, the AMAALA Marina and AMAALA Yacht Club.
Dining is centered on Equinox’s philosophy of indulgently healthy nutrition, with a collection of venues designed to combine culinary experiences with health and wellbeing. The resort’s dining portfolio includes Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai and EQX Den, each offering a distinct atmosphere while reflecting the property’s broader high-performance lifestyle concept.
Equinox Resort AMAALA joins a growing portfolio of international luxury hospitality brands being developed at AMAALA, a destination focused on wellness, sport, culture and lifestyle.
Once fully developed, AMAALA is expected to feature more than 1,600 hotel rooms across nine resorts, alongside branded residences, wellness facilities, a marina, and a curated selection of retail and dining experiences.
With the opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA, the destination adds a new hospitality concept focused on the intersection of luxury, fitness, recovery and wellbeing, further expanding the range of experiences available along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.
