Hotel Local opens in Dubai’s JVT, merging stylish stays with community vibes

Updated on 25th Apr 2025

The First Group Hospitality and Hoque Global have officially opened Hotel Local, a bold new lifestyle hotel in the heart of Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT). Offering 579 rooms, the property stands out for more than just its modern accommodations—it also features a rooftop pool with city views, a fully equipped gym, and a tranquil spa, creating a perfect retreat for both business and leisure travelers.

Hotel Local is designed to feel less like a hotel and more like part of the neighborhood. The brand, launched by US-based Hoque Global, emphasizes local culture, social connection, and immersive experiences. “This hotel is more than just a place to stay—it’s a vibrant social hub,” said Rob Burns, CEO of The First Group. “Hotel Local is where guests and locals come together to connect and experience Dubai authentically.”

The hotel offers more than comfort—it delivers a lifestyle. Its two signature dining concepts reflect its community-first ethos:

  • Farmers Commons, a farm-to-table restaurant spotlighting local ingredients and sustainability.

  • Neighbourhood Brew, a café-lounge hybrid serving artisanal coffee by day and craft cocktails by night.

Guests can also enjoy regular events, pop-ups, and themed brunches that make Hotel Local a go-to spot for residents and visitors alike. Complimentary shuttles provide easy access to Soluna Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah, where city energy meets coastal serenity.

Mike Hoque, Founder and CEO of Hoque Global, noted that the hotel’s mission is rooted in people, education, and innovation. “We’re creating spaces that reflect and serve the neighborhoods they’re in while also developing future hospitality leaders,” he said.

Dave Johnson, a hospitality veteran and Hotel Local partner, added: “This launch marks just the beginning—we’re excited to take this concept to cities like New York, San Francisco, and beyond.”

Hotel Local welcomes travelers, creatives, and families looking for something more than a typical hotel stay. With six room types designed for both short and extended visits, top-tier wellness amenities, and inclusive community spaces, it redefines what it means to live—and stay—like a local.
