Joseph Najm appointed director of spa and recreation at Shangri-La Jeddah
Joseph Najm has been made the director of spa and recreation at Shangri-La Jeddah. In this role, he will lead all wellness facilities across the upcoming hotel, including its branded spa, pools and kid’s club.
Though he has 15 years of hospitality experience, Najm comes from a physical therapy background, with a masters degree in the field. He started at Le Royal Hotel Lebanon as a therapy supervisor and personal trainer in 2006, but was made spa manager two years later.
He then left to set up his own physiotherapy clinic in Beirut, which he led for four years before moving to Oman with IHG as a recreation manager. He would work as a recreation manager for the next seven years, working with Sheraton, IHG and Movenpick across China, the Maldives, Algeria and his home country.
“Shangri-La Jeddah features two entire floors dedicated to wellbeing,” said Najm. Facilities include a 25 metre lap pool overlooking the Red Sea, male and female gyms with personal trainers, a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and Hammam.
