L’ORÉAL joins the fight against Coronavirus

L’Oréal has announced that it is launching a European solidarity programme to support the fight against COVID-19. The world’s largest beauty company, based in France, has put into place measures to help Europe fight against Coronavirus. Starting with switching factory production to hand sanitizers, Garnier will supply and distribute several million units to European food distribution customers, free-of-charge, to protect their employees. La Roche Posay will also equip partner hospitals, care homes and partner pharmacies in Europe with hand sanitizers. L’Oréal is also easing the burden of payment for Salons until their businesses reopen by freezing payments from businesses that have been affected by the crisis.
Chairman and CEO Jean-Paul Agon explained, “In this unprecedented crisis, it is our responsibility to contribute to the collective effort in every way possible. Through these actions, L’Oréal expresses our recognition, our support and our solidarity towards those who are demonstrating extraordinary courage and selflessness in their efforts to combat this pandemic.”
L’Oréal joins the ranks of other French businesses such as LVMH who also shifted production of their cosmetic factories to the production of hand sanitizers. Hermes, has made similar strides allocating one factory to produce hand sanitizer while closing the rest to protect their employees and comply with country-wide lockdown advisories.
