In the waning days of the previous month, Dubai Tourism unveiled a novel accreditation framework for hotels. The Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp has been introduced for establishments that exhibit the highest adherence to DET's rigorous sustainability prerequisites.
Forged through collaboration with Dubai's hospitality sector, this fresh accolade is meticulously designed to expedite endeavors aimed at empowering the tourism industry to fulfill its sustainability objectives while bolstering the UAE's NetZero 2050 initiative.
Procedure for the Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp
The Dubai Sustainable Tourism Stamp serves as a testament to a hotel's unwavering dedication to sustainability and serves as a platform to showcase its sustainable initiatives. To secure the stamp, hotels of all categories must meet DET's 19 Sustainability requirements, which encompass facets like energy and water efficiency, waste management strategies, as well as staff education and engagement endeavors. Oversight of the accreditation process is vested in a committee comprising of senior industry experts, ensuring a meticulous approach and impartiality, with the initiative being modeled on global best practices.
