Ajman has introduced a sweeping package of incentives aimed at boosting its hospitality and tourism industry, including a six-month waiver on key tourism-related fees.

The initiative, effective from March 1, was launched under the directives of Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid, according to the Ajman Department of Tourism Development. Details of the programme were reported by state news agency Wam.

Under the scheme, tourism fees for all establishments have been deferred for six months, easing financial pressure on hotels and related businesses. Authorities have also waived charges for event permits and licence renewals, including penalties for late payments.

In addition, the package introduces flexible payment options, allowing businesses to settle dues through interest-free instalment plans once the deferral period ends.

As part of efforts to attract more visitors, entry fees for museums across the emirate have been scrapped until the end of the year. Tourism establishments participating in exhibitions and promotional events organised by the department will also be exempt from participation fees.

Officials said the measures are designed to strengthen the resilience and long-term sustainability of Ajman’s tourism sector.

“The measures fall within the Crown Prince’s vision to develop the tourism business environment and strengthen the sector’s sustainability and resilience in addressing various challenges,” the department said.

The move comes as Ajman continues to expand its tourism offering as part of a broader economic diversification strategy. The emirate has been investing in heritage sites, cultural events and international marketing campaigns to attract domestic, regional and global visitors.

Recent figures highlight steady growth in the sector. Between March 1 and April 21 this year, Ajman recorded more than 88,000 guest arrivals, according to data from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media.

The latest incentives are expected to further stimulate activity in the hospitality sector, positioning Ajman as an increasingly competitive destination within the UAE’s tourism landscape.
