Red Sea Global Secures Seven LEED Certifications for Sustainable Developments

Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and AMAALA destinations, has earned seven prestigious LEED certifications, including six new certifications for properties at The Red Sea. These Building Design + Construction (BD+C) certifications highlight RSG’s leadership in creating sustainable, energy-efficient buildings. Additionally, the AMAALA masterplan received LEED for Cities and Communities pre-certification.

CEO John Pagano praised the team's dedication to redefining industry standards through sustainable practices, ensuring high-quality, low-impact properties. The certifications include LEED Platinum status for Six Senses Southern Dunes, The St. Regis Red Sea Resort, and other luxury developments.

All certified properties are powered by solar energy, contributing to a reduction of 575,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to removing 133,000 cars from the road. Red Sea International Airport is the only airport in the Gulf Cooperation Council running entirely on solar energy 24/7.

AMAALA and additional Red Sea developments, including Shebara and Desert Rock, are set to welcome guests soon, with AMAALA on track to open its first eight resorts in 2025.

Peter Templeton, CEO of the US Green Building Council, commended RSG for its commitment to sustainability, noting that LEED certification reflects a broader effort to make a positive environmental impact.
