UAE to welcome it's first Ritz-Carlton Reserve on Ramhan Island
Abu Dhabi, UAE — The ultra-luxurious Ritz-Carlton Reserve is set to make its debut in the UAE on Ramhan Island, a new high-end development off the coast of Abu Dhabi. Scheduled to open in 2029, this will be the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the UAE and only the eighth in the world.
This villa-only resort will feature 50 exclusive properties ranging from one to four bedrooms, along with a variety of leisure amenities and several high-end dining options. The project is a collaboration between Marriott International and Eagle Hills, the developer behind the Ramhan Island project.
Sandeep Walia, Marriott International’s Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East, highlighted the unique appeal of Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties, stating, "The demand for exclusive experiences remains strong. This resort will offer an intimate and transformative experience in an ultra-luxury setting."
The announcement of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve comes as development on Ramhan Island progresses. Currently, only a portion of the expansive 400-hectare island is accessible to prospective property buyers. The island's development plan includes 1,800 stand-alone villas, 900 marina residences, and prime retail locations. The first phase of property handovers is anticipated in 2026.
Ramhan Island's natural allure, featuring sightings of dolphins, sea turtles, and birds, is a key selling point. This focus on nature aligns with the Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand, which emphasizes a "complete escape to the unexpected" that incorporates local culture, heritage, and the environment.
Globally, there are only seven Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties, including locations in Krabi, Thailand, and Hokkaido, Japan. While Ramhan Island marks the first Reserve in the UAE, it follows the opening of Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea, in May. Nujuma's room rates start at 9,913 riyals ($2,640), making it the region's most expensive hotel. Marriott International has also announced plans for a second Reserve property in Saudi Arabia, located in Trojena, Neom’s mountain destination.
"Created for the most discerning travellers seeking a distinct and luxurious escape, Reserve properties are tucked away in hand-picked corners of the world," said the hotel group, describing the service at these ultra-luxurious properties as "highly responsive and individualised."
Eagle Hills chairman Mohamed Alabbar expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "As the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the UAE, it will set new standards of excellence.
