What should your salon be doing during the coronavirus outbreak?

During uncertain times, one things for certain our beauty and hair regimes need to be kept alive where possible!
With Dubai Municipality acting quickly to keep all salons across the Middle East alive and kicking - here is the lowdown as to what you need to do to ensure hygiene remains a top priority during this coronavirus outbreak.
From Sunday 15th March 2020 till further notice all salons need to implement the following:
- All customers has to take an appointment prior to visiting the property
- Waiting area to be closed permanetly (customers not allowed to be in the waiting area to limit the number of people inside the salon)
- All newspapers, magazines and brochures to be removed
- Only disposable cups to be used for servicing tea or coffee
- No entry for any customer with flu like symptons
- Warning face masks for any kind of service is mandatory
Dubai's Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) have inforced the following for all salons to act on immediately:
- Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection on the following:
- entrance door handle
- waiting chairs/benches/sofa/table
- TV remote controls
- Any reading material
- Hair cutting chairs
- All cutting tools/material/equipment
- Hand & hair basins
- Personal hygiene
- Cabinets/drawers/shelves
- Washrooms (door handles/water taps etc) - Availability of hand sanitizers & hand wash liquid and ensure hand washing before & after each service
- Document all cleaning and disinfection operations including list of used disinfections.
Regular and frequent inspections will be conducted to make sure from complying, otherwise, salons will be violated as per the current enforced rules.
